Praise for “A Perfect Season”
Coach Dan, I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Dixie Baseball state meeting in Lake City, FL in January. After listening to you speak I purchased your book. I just completed the book this evening and I must tell you, it was the best book I have read in a very long time. It had me thinking back to when I started playing baseball as a 5 year old and what the motivation was to keep playing through high school. At multiple points in the book I called my youth coach, my dad, and passed along what I had just read and how it related to what he taught me during those times. It also pointed out some of my shortcomings as a coach and how I can reverse those trends and make them positives for my kids. I was able to use some of what I read yesterday evening at my practice this morning with one of my kids on the team and the results were almost immediate. The look in his eye when he saw the results of what he was just shown made the whole practice for me. It also made an impact on his parents who thanked me after practice for taking the time to work with their son. I am going to recommend this book to all of our board members at our next meeting and hopefully they will purchase and read this book as well. Again, I want to thank you for taking the time to speak with us and for the great book you have written.Eric Dearborn | President West Volusia Dixie Baseball Manager of an 11/12 year old team
As a local Little League coach and board member, I see how important it is for young players to have rewarding sports experiences. A Perfect Season captures the essence of coaching youth baseball, and throughout Dan’s journey I found myself laughing, nodding in agreement, groaning in disbelief, and grinning with pride. Every youth sports coach should read this book to see what a “Perfect Season” really is.Jerry Murphy | Youth Sports Coach
